PT PLN Gas & Geothermal Wins the 2023 TrenAsia ESG Award in the Alternative Energy Category
Jakarta, 30 August 2023 – PT PLN Gas & Geothermal (PLNGG) was one of 58 companies invited to attend the 2023 TrenAsia ESG Awards.
This annual event, organized by the online media outlet TrenAsia, aims to recognize companies that have demonstrated tangible implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) values in a sustainable manner.
The evaluation criteria were based on assessments by the Judging Panel, namely:
- Edi Setijawan, Director of the IKNB Development and Digital Financial Innovation Department at the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
- Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, Coordinating Vice Chairwoman III for Maritime, Investment, and Foreign Affairs at KADIN Indonesia
- Adhitya Noviardi, Editor-in-Chief of TrenAsia
- Maria Rosaline Nindita Radyati, President Director of the Institute for Sustainability & Agility
- Michael T. Tjoajadi, Chief Executive Officer of Schroders Indonesia
- Mas Achmad Daniri, Expert Council Member of the National Governance Policy Committee.
Imam Soejoedi, SE, MM, a staff member of the Ministry of Investment, was also present to share his hopes with business leaders regarding the importance of sustainable investment, which can benefit not only companies but also future generations.
“Through TrenAsia ESG, we have gathered here to discuss an important topic that will shape the future of our planet which is clean energy in Indonesia. The global community has reached a critical juncture in addressing the need for renewable and sustainable energy sources. It is time for us to work together to tackle the challenges of climate change, dwindling resources, and environmental degradation. We must focus our attention on the transition toward an environmentally friendly energy future. In the Alternative Energy category, there are four competing companies: PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, PT Arkora Hydro Tbk, PT Sky Energy Indonesia Tbk, and PT PLN Gas dan Geothermal. We are grateful to have won an award in the Sustainability nomination within the Alternative Energy category,” said Riza.
This event was attended by a number of companies, including: PT PLN (Persero), PT PLN Indonesia Power, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy, PT Bumi Resources, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, PT Bumi Tractors Tbk, PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk, Nickel Industries Limited, PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk, PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk, PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk, PT Trimegah Karya Pratama, PT GTS Internasional Tbk, and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero).
Adhitya Noviardi, Editor-in-Chief of TrenAsia, hopes that business leaders will continue to implement ESG principles in a sustainable manner and actively fulfill their social responsibilities to protect the environment.
