PLN Energi Gas Ensures Reliable Pipeline Gas Supply to the Tanjung Batu Combined Cycle Power Plant
Tanjung Batu, 22–23 January 2026 – PLN Energi Gas, together with PLN Energi Primer Indonesia, conducted an operational evaluation of gas distribution to the Tanjung Batu Combined Cycle Power Plant on January 22–23, 2026. The activity took place at the Tanjung Batu Gas Station in Bintan Regency to review the operational conditions of gas distribution and the implementation of procedures in the field.
The evaluation was carried out by a team from PLN Energi Gas’s Operations and Maintenance Management Unit (UPOP) in collaboration with PLN Energi Primer Indonesia. The review covered the operational conditions of gas distribution to the power plant as well as the implementation of procedures used in operational activities.
The team inspected the condition of the facilities and the distribution process directly on-site. The field evaluation provided an overview of operational implementation while also creating an opportunity to align coordination among the teams involved in gas distribution.
Mohammad Faradhy, Director of the Operations and Maintenance Management Unit (UPOP) at PLN Energi Gas, stated that the field evaluation is part of efforts to ensure that operational aspects of gas distribution proceed in accordance with on-site conditions and needs.
“From an operational standpoint, we ensure that the condition of the facilities and the implementation of procedures on-site remain in compliance with regulations. Evaluations like this also provide an opportunity to directly observe actual conditions and align coordination so that gas distribution to the power plant can continue to meet demand,” said Mohammad Faradhy.
The pipeline gas supply to the Tanjung Batu Combined Cycle Power Plant supports the fuel needs for power generation. Therefore, the management of the distribution facilities is carried out in accordance with operating conditions and applicable procedures.
Collaboration between PLN Energi Gas and PLN Energi Primer Indonesia was evident during the evaluation process. Each team conducted inspections in accordance with their respective management functions, allowing information regarding distribution conditions to be discussed directly on-site.
The evaluation results can be used to maintain the operational readiness of the gas distribution system. Monitoring the condition of the facilities and the implementation of procedures also helps ensure that distribution activities proceed in accordance with the power plant’s needs.
Activities at the Tanjung Batu Gas Station demonstrate a series of management processes that support the distribution of gas to the power plant. This management is part of PLN Energi Gas’s activities in carrying out the operation and maintenance of gas infrastructure.
Through this joint evaluation, PLN Energi Gas and PLN Energi Primer Indonesia continue their coordination in managing gas distribution to the Tanjung Batu Combined Cycle Power Plant (PLTGU). On-site inspections and reviews of operational procedures are conducted to support the readiness of gas distribution to meet the power plant’s needs.
