PLN Energi Gas Holds In-House Training on the LNG Regasification Unit in Tarakan

Tarakan, 21 July 2025 – PT PLN Energi Gas held an in-house training session on the LNG regasification unit in Tarakan as part of operational preparations for the LNG regasification project, which is set to begin operations soon. The training was conducted in two phases: July 16–19, 2025, and July 21–26, 2025. It took place at the Paguntaka Meeting Hall of the Tarakan ULP and directly at the LNG Regasification Unit site, located at Jl. P. Diponegoro No. 18, Sebengkok, Tarakan Tengah District, Tarakan City, North Kalimantan.

The training was attended by all personnel on the LNG Regasification team, including the O&M Coordinator, HSE Coordinator, Port HSE Coordinator and staff, the Operations and Maintenance Team, Administration and General Affairs, Operations Planning and Control, Security, Drivers, and Cleaning Service staff. With a total of 38 participants, the event reflected strong cross-functional engagement in preparation for the operation of the LNG regasification unit in Tarakan.

This event featured an expert consultant in LNG regasification as a speaker, who provided a technical introduction and comprehensive insights into the system, safety procedures, and operational readiness for LNG. The goal is to ensure that all personnel understand their respective roles and responsibilities once the unit begins operations, in order to support the provision of clean, efficient, and environmentally friendly gas energy, as well as to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution.

“This training is a crucial step in ensuring that our workforce is prepared for the operations of this strategic project, which will serve as the backbone of the clean energy transition in this region,” said the Manager of the Operations and Maintenance Unit at PLN Energi Gas.

The training session proceeded smoothly and interactively, with active participation from all attendees. High enthusiasm was evident through various questions, discussions, and a collaborative spirit, demonstrating the team’s readiness to support the operational launch of the LNG regasification unit.

By conducting this training, PLN Energi Gas demonstrates its commitment not only to building energy infrastructure but also to developing the capacity and competencies of PLN personnel to deliver reliable and sustainable natural gas services to the people of Tarakan and the surrounding areas.
